I’m an immigrant & I applied to get Food Stams Benefits for my daughter, who is a 5 year-old U.S. citizen. In the future can my U.S. residency or citizenship can be denied, because I appear as the applicant for my daughter’s benefits?
It is not clear from your question whether you already are a U.S. lawful resident. However, if the public benefit you received is in the name of your U.S. citizen daughter and was not for you, it should not adversely impact your eligibility for either U.S. residence or U.S. citizenship. Nevertheless, if this does become an issue when you apply for your lawful residence status, you would be wise to consult an immigration lawyer.
